Sunday, August 23, 11:30am - 3:30pm
.
On this engaging and educational hike in the Gifford Pinchot National Forest, we’ll track animals, watch for birds, and identify plants and flowers as well as practice sensory awareness. We will also practice our sensory awareness and alternate socializing with quiet, mindful hiking. A wonderful experience for the whole family!

This hike is appropriate for kiddos 4 and up. Please note that hiking with children requires flexibility as well as limits to ensure we stay on path and schedule. This hike has some hills and is mostly open (so sun and wind protection is important).  We will make stops to investigate, listen, and eat/drink.

You will be sent weather updates, a packing list, and directions to the trailhead 1 week before the hike.  By attending the hike, you accept responsibility for the safety of your family. You will be asked to sign a waiver.

Exact location TBD.

Limited to 8 families.

about your hike leaders:

Jessica and David Becker started leading adults out hiking and backpacking shortly after meeting in 2010. They started leading families on hikes when they added a child to their family in 2014. These two are quite the team - David is skilled in archery, animal tracking, bushcraft, and off trail navigation and Jessica is very knowledgable about native plants, birds, and where to find family-friendly trails locally (Jessica has independently published two hiking guides for families; check it out at www.littlefeethiking.com). Jessica is also on the Board at TreeSong as of 2019. David and Jessica love taking families out hiking and look forward to helping families connect with their senses, discover amazing things about nature, and have fun, all while developing skills and confidence on the trail.
